After a not so summery August, the Met. Office forecast that Sunday 5 September would be dry, warm and sunny, and so it proved. By 10 o’clock the sun appeared and remained for the rest of the day, making our 2021 rally one of the best for a few years, all helped along by the further easing of the Covid rules. It is unfortunate that those same rules affected the number of vehicles for the Manor’s Show on South Park.

As usual nowadays, we provided marshals and there were 11 branch Minors parked up on the showground by 8.30 and their owners ready for action. Final turnout of Minors, from series IIs to final production was 51, 19 of these being branch members’ vehicles, so, thank you all for helping make for a good display. We also welcomed Paul Boylett to the branch; he signed up at the rally and we look forward to seeing him at future meetings. Another recent member, Neil Fisher, also made his rally debut. Both these new members were awarded prizes for their fine restorations.
